Dentistry: As it is for humans it is recommended that your pet’s teeth be cleaned on a regular basis. Dr. Niedermiller will guide you through a preventative Dental Hygiene Program for your pets. Our dental services for your pet(s) include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
Permanent Identification: We offer microchip identification.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea & tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pets. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
Vaccinations: We do not approach vaccinations with a “cookie cutter” mentality. Dr. Niedermiller will select your pet’s vaccinations according to you and your pet’s lifestyle. Be sure to inquire about our “Free Vaccines For the Life Of Your Pet,” program where we offer free pet vaccinations!
Mobile Services: Our Mobile Veterinary Services in Deerfield Beach offers our clients an alternative to the stress of an office visit with a nervous and scared pet. We provide full basic veterinary care in the comfort of your own home.
Wellness Exams: Dr. Niedermiller recommends that a wellness exam be done every six months or at the least annually because of the increased rate at which our pets age. The earlier we can discover a problem the sooner we can begin treatment or preventative therapy.
Acupuncture: Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific areas (“acupoints”) on the body with very fine needles. There are at least 360 classical acupoints, and additional ones have been defined over the years. When acupoints are stimulated, the body reacts with a complex cellular and nervous system response that involves the brain, the spinal cord, and blood vessels. This initiates the release of neurotransmitters-endorphins, serotonin, and other chemicals- that are beneficial to the body’s normal function. One can affect pain control, inflammation, and more delicate biochemical processes, depending upon which neurotransmitters are released.
Does it hurt? It is usually not painful to have acupuncture needles inserted in the skin, but a mild sensation may be felt. Animals tolerate treatments very well, and many fall asleep during treatment.
What can be treated? Acupuncture for dogs and cats may be used to address immunological disorders, neurological complaints, (such as seizures or paralysis), as well as gastrointestinal, dermatological, and emotional conditions. Although many of our patients are referred to us from other practitioners after conventional medicine has not worked or has caused undesirable side effects, just as many owners now choose to use acupuncture proactively in their pets, to optimize good health, and try to minimize problems associated with aging.
